Barbara I. Ragone, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2014.

Born in Queens, NY, Barbara moved to Cranford, NJ in 1975.  She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Theresa’s Church, the Catholic Daughters of St. Theresa’s Court, Kenilworth Senior Citizens, Cranford Senior Citizens, Assistant Treasurer of the 2nd District of the NJ State First Aid Council for many years, and President and 40-year member of the all-volunteer Cranford First Aid Squad.

Barbara joined the squad in 1976. She held the offices of Recording Sec. Corresponding Sec. Pres. and Vice- President. She was very active in running the Day squad when we were 24/7.

She also ran the Christmas parties and assisted with Running our Huge anniversary Parade with all towns invited and participating in the town-wide parade and picnic held in Nomahegan Park. 

Many squad members rode with Barbara and learned from her. 

She is predeceased by her husband Andrew Ragone in April 2014, and daughter Lisa Ragone.  Surviving are three children Andrea Lewis and her husband Craig, Robert Ragone, and Barbara Cicalese and her husband Thomas.

The viewing is at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, (908) 245-1558.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday.  

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 8:45 am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 541 Washington Ave. in Kenilworth at 10 am. (908) 272-4444. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.
