Cranford Schools Chief: Here's What May Happen In Snowstorm
With 'significant' snow Monday or Tuesday, the school schedule may change. See our link to the Cranford forecast.
CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Superintendent of Schools Scott Rubin said Friday that if a predicted snowstorm blows into the area Monday and Tuesday, schools may go remote with no afternoon sessions. It's too early to tell right now, he said.
Cranford High School is already remote next week due to coronavirus cases.

"As of now, it appears this current storm will be arriving Sunday night/Monday morning and will continue through Tuesday. Currently, we are expecting significant impacts, which could cancel in-person learning on Monday and Tuesday. Although it is still too early to make a decision, as there can be shifts in the storm’s trajectory, please be prepared for the district to transition to remote learning with canceled afternoon sessions on Monday and Tuesday."
He noted, "Preschool and kindergarten principals will provide a follow up correspondence regarding schedules for those populations should we have to transition. We will make a final decision by late afternoon on Sunday.
"Please note that we still have two emergency school closure days built into the calendar," he wrote. "If they go unused they will be 'given back,' i.e. used to shorten the school year. Be well, stay safe, and thank you for your partnership!"
