Cranford Seeks Developers For Portion Of Downtown
The Township Committee decided a week ago Tuesday to seek "Expressions of Interest" for the redevelopment of the North Ave Gateway area.

CRANFORD, NJ — At the Cranford Township Committee's meeting on Feb. 9, the committee voted to seek “Expressions of Interest” from developers for the redevelopment of the North Avenue Gateway area of downtown.
Cranford Mayor Kathleen Miller Prunty said in a newsletter on Friday that "This action, which is non-binding and no cost to the township, invites qualified developers or development teams of planners and architects to submit ideas for redeveloping this area of the Downtown Business District."
This way, the town can consider ideas for developing the site and "encourage investment in a way that enhances the downtown and creates opportunities for greater success."

Prunty said the town will hold a series of Q & A sessions, likely virtual, regarding that and other proposed development projects in town.
The new mayor also said that the town will add a “Redevelopment Information” page to its website.

"Public information was a priority in my campaign and I have remained committed to keeping residents informed," she wrote. "I ask for patience and understanding while the Township Committee negotiates on behalf of residents and in the best interest of this town that we all care about. We may not always agree but we shouldn’t question anyone else commitment to Cranford."
