Raritan Valley Line Mayors’ Alliance Advocates For Rail Line

Mayors from 32 towns along NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line push to restore one-seat ride to and from NYC.

Each weekday some 1,500 riders use NJ Transit's Cranford station. That's only a fraction of the approximately 23,000 riders on the Raritan Valley Line and more are anticipated as development continues in the four counties along the line. The RVL Mayors’ Alliance was created to advocate for what they call equitable treatments for the line’s users. Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr serves as co-chair of the alliance, along with Westfield Mayor Shelley Brindle. Cranford Radio spoke with Mayor Mahr to learn more about the group and their goals.
