UPDATED: Cranford Water Main Break Fixed

A water main break in Cranford was fixed by Tuesday, but utility work is now ongoing on Gallows Hill Road. See link.

CRANFORD, NJ — Crews responded to a water main break on Monday afternoon in Cranford, police said. The break, reported around 2 p.m., was near South Avenue and Washington Place. However, it was repaired by Tuesday.

On Tuesday, police sent out an alert for a new traffic issue at Gallows Hill Road and Brookside Place, closing the road there in both directions. For that update, click here.

The Police Department also recently advised residents of possible detours in two other parts of town throughout the month of January. They issued an advisory on Thursday, Jan. 2, saying there would be daily closures on South Union Avenue between Lincoln and Lexington avenues through the rest of the month.

Police sent a separate alert the same day saying there will also be daily road closures on Brookside Place through January.
