On behalf of the HbW Women Cycling Volunteers and Hilltop Bicycles, thank you to the women who have joined HbW women's cycling club and continue to help us fulfill our mission to provide a supportive, friendly and encouraging environment for women of all cycling abilities to have fun, meet new friends and improve their cycling skills.Â
As we look forward to warmer temperatures and longer days, it is time to share our HbW spring group ride schedule. Unless otherwise noted, group rides commence the 1st week of April.Â
We are pleased to announce two weekly HbW riding opportunities beginning this Saturday, March 8th:
- The C-Level (intermediate) Group Ride will leave from Tamaques Park in Westfield, NJ at 10 AM and continue weekly on Saturdays through May 3rd. This is for road bike riders with some riding experience and ability to maintain AVG pace between 12-15 MPH on terrain which includes 1 big hill climb and rolling hills. This is a no drop ride for fun & fitness!Â
- The HbW Cycling Workout will take place at 10 AM at the Tamaques Park 0.8 mile paved loop and continue weekly through May 10th. A small group may split off to ride on local residential streets after riding around the loop for a few weeks. This ride-at-your-own-pace cycling opportunity is geared towards beginners, "rusty" riders, and those of any cycling level that prefer not to contend with cars on open streets. It offers a setting for camaraderie and exercise in a no-stress environment! A leader and several HbW volunteers will be onsite to ride / answer questions. Bring any type bike!
- For triathletes or those with an interest in triathlons, join Triwomen at 9 AM for "I Hate Running." Like a Challenge? Attend "I Hate Running" followed by 10 AM HbW Cycling Workout for a "brick" session. "I Hate Running" has all levels of runners & walkers. - If you plan to attend either the HbW C-Group Ride, HbW Cycling Workout, or Triwomen's "I Hate Running" at Tamaques Park, in Westfield, please meet by the tennis courts / brick restroom building in center of park 15 minutes before start time. There is parking adjacent, and also throughout the park. (Do not park on the grass or you may be ticketed.)
