Belleville Man Charged With Burglary In East Brunswick: Police
Anthony Johnson, 42, committed several commercial burglaries within East Brunswick, totaling over $10,000 in losses, said police.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The East Brunswick police charged a Belleville man with burglary, after a multi-jurisdictional investigation.
According to the police, Anthony C. Johnson, 42, committed several commercial burglaries within East Brunswick, totaling over $10,000 in losses. Johnson was charged with three burglaries in East Brunswick, possession of burglar tools, possession of CDS, and obstruction.
He was arrested on Thanksgiving Day after detective Chieffo found him casing a business that he had burglarized multiple times before, said the police.

While the detective was coordinating with patrol units, Johnson was observed leaving the business and subsequently stopped. Police said he was placed under arrest after the detective found he had attempted to force entry to the business.
Several detectives and patrol officers conducted a more in-depth investigation which led to the execution of a search warrant. He was remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center.

Other charges are pending in East Brunswick as well as other jurisdictions.
Detectives from Old Bridge Police Department, the Sayreville Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office assisted the East Brunswick Police Department in their investigation.
