Community Art Project On Display At East Brunswick Public Library
The community art project consists of nearly 400 small canvases decorated by adults and children.
East Brunswick Public Library and the East Brunswick Art Commission partnered for an exhibition featuring artwork created by the community, which is on display at the library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center) through the month of November.
The community art project consists of nearly 400 small canvases decorated by adults and children.
“This project gave East Brunswick residents a chance to sit and create small works of art for others to enjoy,” said Melissa Hozik, adult programming librarian at East Brunswick Public Library. The canvases were created during programs at the library and at outreach events throughout East Brunswick.

“The many separate works of art look so beautiful all together,” said Kathy Spadafino, vice-president of the East Brunswick Arts Commission. “This project is a true reflection of the people and families of East Brunswick.”
The display also includes an exhibit called “Mini EB” made of photograph paper dolls of area residents in a town setting created by East Brunswick resident and artist Barbara Smith. This is inspired by artist Michael Velliquette’s 2013 “Lovey Town” project.
