Don’t Drink And Drive On Super Bowl Sunday: East Brunswick PD

Police also suggested people organize a socially distant virtual watch party from the comfort of their homes.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The East Brunswick Police Department is reminding residents to not drink and drive on Super Bowl Sunday.

While celebrating Super Bowl will be different this year due to the pandemic, it will in many cases involve consumption of alcohol.

“This year’s Super Bowl is drastically different from previous years,” police said in a Facebook post.

“If you plan to attend a small gathering outside your home, make sure your evening includes a plan for getting home safely.”

Police also warned driver carrying alcohol in their cars and said all alcohol should be carried in a “leak-proof container, leaving stickers and seals in place.”

No straws should be placed in the containers either.

In many states, open containers are prohibited in any seating area of a vehicle, including the driver's side, passenger side, or backseat, even if the vehicle is stopped or parked.

Police also suggested a socially distant celebration, by asking those who plan to stay home to organize a virtual watch party, instead of a gathering.
