Nutrition Tips for Older Adults (Y Intern)

The Raritan Valley YMCA has teamed up with the Middlesex County Office of Aging & Disabled Services at 732-745-3295 to increase public awareness of services and opportunities for county seniors, the disabled, and their care givers.

Eating healthy prevents chronic disease and increases quality of life. Need help with food? How do I find someone to assist me with questions about getting food? To learn about SNAP, a supplemental nutrition assistance program answer a brief survey at: https://www.njhelps.org/NJHelp... To receive a free weekly 20 pound food box, call the YMCA.

The SNAP program provides some extra help to pay for food at supermarkets, farmers markets and other approved stores. The Y has a free boxed food distribution each Tuesday.

For information on exercise, health, and wellness programs and to see if your part D health insurance provides you with a free YMCA membership, call the Raritan Valley YMCA at 732-257-4114.
