East Brunswick Police Invite 5th Grade Parents To Drug Class

East Brunswick PD asks parents of all fifth graders at Lawrence Brook, Memorial, Bowne-Munro and Chittick Elementary attend on Jan. 27.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — For the 2019-2020 school year the East Brunswick Police Department has been implementing an unparalleled prevention education and character development program for all fifth graders called “Too Good for Drugs.”

The ten-week program is comprised of 10 lessons. The first five lessons are skill development and the second five are skill application. East Brunswick police ask the parents/guardians of all fifth graders from Lawrence Brook, Memorial, Bowne-Munro and Chittick Elementary Schools please attend their first LEAD Appreciation Night, which will be Monday, Jan. 27 from 7-8 p.m.

It will be held at the Jo Ann Magistro Performing Arts Center, located inside Hammarskjold Middle School (200 Rues Lane East Brunswick, NJ 08816.

East Brunswick police ask: "Please make every effort to attend, as we would like to say thank you to all the students, parents and guardians. We also would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all the faculty and staff for adjusting their schedules to accommodate this program."

The LEAD Prevention Education program plants seeds of healthy eating and healthy living. The curriculum and material is provided by the Mendez Foundation, a national non-profit that has the goal of teaching kids they are too good for drugs and violence.
