East Brunswick Police Seeks Volunteers For Neighborhood Watch

Under the Neighborhood Watch Program, residents will work together with law enforcement to keep their community safe.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Police Department is encouraging township residents to join the neighborhood watch program.

Under the East Brunswick Neighborhood Watch Program, residents come together to work with the police in keeping the community safe.

The neighborhood watch groups will have regular meetings to plan how to accomplish specific goals. The groups will have designated leaders and assigned responsibilities. This is also a good way for neighbors to get to know one another.

Watch programs will teach volunteers to be observant, report suspicious activities and individuals to local law enforcement, and educate children on crime prevention and safety.

However, the neighborhood watch program does not allow members to apprehend, investigate, or intervene in a criminal incident.
