East Brunswick Schools In-Person Restart Delayed Until Feb. 8
The delay would allow for proper removal of snow from roads and school premises, said officials. East Brunswick received 15 inches of snow.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — East Brunswick School District on Tuesday announced it was delaying restart of in-person leaning until Feb. 8. The earlier date was Feb. 4.
“Our restart of our hybrid learning model is delayed until Monday, Feb. 8. This delay is necessary to give us time to completely clear large volumes of snow from all our properties and prepare for the safe return of students and staff,” superintendent Victor Valeski said in a statement to the school community.
A "major" nor'easter left much of New Jersey covered in snow Tuesday morning. According to estimates, East Brunswick received 15 inches of snow.

“This will also give the Township additional time to clear roads that will allow our buses to safely run their routes and residents can use the additional time to clear their sidewalks before students return to school next Monday,” Valeski said, explaining his decision.
