East Brunswick Tree Lighting, Festival Of Lights Moved To Dec. 8
The fire pits will be lit at 5, and at 6 there will be caroling, the tree and menorah lighting. Expect a surprise North Pole visitor.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Update: Due to the predicted inclement weather for this Sunday, The Holiday of Lights event has been postponed to next Sunday, December 8 with all the same details.
Every year, East Brunswick holds its "Festival of Lights," where a Christmas tree and Hanukkah menorah are lit and there is a surprise visitor from the North Pole.
This year, it will be Sunday, Dec. 1 at the East Brunswick municipal complex. If there is bad weather, it may be postponed. Check https://www.eastbrunswick.org for updates throughout the weekend.

At 5 p.m., fire pits will be lit, and hot cocoa, cookies, dreidels and candy will be given out and a movie will be shown ("Troll's Holiday"). Then at 6 p.m. there will be caroling, the tree and menorah lighting. The local Girl Scouts will also be providing an activity for children.
At 6:15 p.m. Santa will arrive and children will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with him. He will be escorted in by East Brunswick police and the volunteer fire departments and rescue squads. All are welcome.
