EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Princeton University men’s basketball team is less than 24 hours away from its first NCAA Tournament appearance in six years — and an East Brunswick grad will be on the court.
Amir Bell is a sophomore at Princeton University and he plays guard for the men's basketball team, which has had a stellar season. The 12th-seeded Princeton Tigers (23-6) will face off against No. 5 Notre Dame (25-9) in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Thursday, 12:15 p.m. at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo. The game will air live on CBS. The team flew up to Buffalo Monday, as you can see from Bell's tweet.
Bell is part of the Princeton Tigers that became the first 16-0 basketball team in Ivy League history. The 6-3, 184-pound Bell started all 29 games with Princeton in his freshman year.
