East Brunswick's Jessica Eker Honored by NYU
This senior track & field pole faulter at NYU earned a Student-Athlete Academic Achievement award Wednesday.

East Brunswick, NJ - New York University women’s track & field team member Jessica Eker was one of 24 undergraduates honored with the NYU Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Award.
Eker is from East Brunswick and graduated from East Brunswick High School.
She was presented with the award at a ceremony on Wednesday at NYU’s Palladium Athletic Facility. To earn the award, a student must graduate with a grade point average of 3.5 or better and have competed for a minimum of two years on an intercollegiate team.

A four-year team member, Eker has competed in the pole vault for the Violets and has posted personal-bests of 2.45m in both the indoor and outdoor events.
As a junior, Eker she finished 18th in the event at the Greyhound Invitational. As a sophomore indoors, she took eighth place at the Keogh Invitational.

A five-time University Athletic Association (UAA) Winter and Spring Sport honoree, Eker has twice been named to the Intercollegiate Athletic Advisory Committee Spring Honor Roll. She is majoring in global public health and science in NYU’s College of Arts and Science.
