EBPL Hosts Two Financial Workshops For Families
Both programs are hosted by Bradley Baskir, a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley in Boston.

Literacy is more than books. East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive) presents two virtual workshops this February to help families better understand their financial literacy.
The first program, "Raising Money-Savvy Children: Embracing Your Role As Chief Financial Parent," is on Friday, February 12 at noon. Parents want to prepare their children for a lifetime of success, but money is a complex topic that can bring up a range of complicated feelings.
This webinar explores strategies that parents can leverage to help their children establish a healthy relationship with money and make smart, informed decisions about their financial futures. Attendees will think through their own values about wealth, discuss approaches to get on the same page with their partner, consider talking with their children, not at them, and use their actions, not just their words, to teach their children about money.

"529 College Savings Plans: Simply The Best Way To Save For College" is presented on Friday, February 26 at noon. Thinking about saving for your child's college tuition can be a daunting and overwhelming experience. This webinar will help attendees understand the challenges that students have today and in the future, when it comes to paying for college, and rethinking several misperceptions that many people have about college planning.
Additionally, attendees will learn about the different options available to fund a college education while focusing on the features and benefits of one option, particularly the 529 Plan, an education savings vehicle that is a no-brainer. However, research suggests that only 29% of Americans have even heard of it.
