EBPL and Saint Peter’s Hospital Program Explores Asthma

This virtual presentation provides an overview of asthma.

Saint Peter’s University Hospital partners with East Brunswick Public Library, located on 2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive, to present the online program, “Asthma: Finding the Ease in YourWheeze,” on Friday, May 7 at 12:00 p.m. via Zoom.

This virtual presentation provides an overview of asthma, including what asthma is, the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, as well as conditions and environmental factors that can contribute to asthma symptoms.

“Asthma: Finding the Ease in Your Wheeze” is led by Denise Kosnar, APN, and Robin Bergeron, PA-C, from the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. As an advance nurse practitioner and certified physician assistant, respectively, Kosnar and Bergeron see patients independently and are passionate about assisting patients in obtaining and maintaining asthma control.

Kosnar grew up in Piscataway and is a proud New Jersey native. She completed her medical education at Rutgers University while working as a nurse at Saint Peter’s. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her 2-year-old daughter, Ellie, her husband, and her family.

Bergeron is originally from Wisconsin but moved to New Jersey to attend the Physician Assistant program at Rutgers University. Along with her role as a certified physician assistant, she developed and manages

Saint Peter’s Lung Health Program, a comprehensive initiative focused on screening for lung cancer, monitoring lung nodules, and managing lung cancer patients. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching fitness classes and baking.
