Free Tree Seedlings Available To East Brunswick Residents

East Brunswick is hosting a Tree Recovery Campaign in April and residents can get free seedlings.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — East Brunswick residents can get free tree seedlings in April as part of New Jersey’s Tree Recovery Campaign.

Residents can pick up free seedling on April 24, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. from Great Oak Park, 260 Rues Lane.

Seedling are available on first come, first served basis, with instructions on how to plan and care for them.

The aim of the tree recovery campaign is to help replant and replace trees that were damaged during superstorm Sandy and other disasters. To date, more than 332,982 trees have been distributed across New Jersey.

For this project, the East Brunswick Recreation & Parks has partnered with NJ Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Program, NJ Forest Service Nursery, NJ Soil Conservations Districts, Arbor Day Foundation, FedEx, International Paper and iCIMS.

Residents need to follow social distancing guidelines and wear masks while picking up seedlings.
