Friends Of Library Host Author Talk With East Brunswick Native

The East Brunswick Friends of the Library will host a virtual book talk with East Brunswick native Jodi Eichler-Levine on Thursday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Eichler-Levine is a Professor of Jewish Civilization and Associate Professor of Religion Studies at Lehigh University. Her most recent book, Painted Pomegranates and Needlepoint Rabbis, How Jews Craft Resilience and Create Community, was selected as one of the 11 best craft books to read now by the Crafts Council of the United Kingdom. In it, she discusses the American Jewish crafting movement and how crafters using various media are “engaged … in honoring and nurturing the fortitude, memory, and community of the Jewish people.”

Eichler-Levine started her education at Irwin Elementary School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and a doctorate from Columbia University.
