Help Clean Up South River Park Saturday, March 16

The clean-up will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Edward A. Grekoski Park, 319-373 Whitehead Avenue.​

SOUTH RIVER, NJ — Local environmental groups are banding together for a clean-up of Grekoski Park and adjacent South River floodplain areas this Saturday, March 16.

The clean-up will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Edward A. Grekoski Park, 319-373 Whitehead Avenue.

Those who wish to participate are required to register online at lowerraritanwatershed.org. Participants are advised to wear closed toe shoes and clothing that can get dirty; bring a reusable water bottle. Gloves, bags and light refreshments will be provided.

The clean-up is being lead by the Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership in conjunction with the South River Green Team Committee and the South River Environmental Commission and Shade Tree Advisory Board. In addition, the Central Jersey Stream Team is participating along with local volunteers.

Funding is provided by the Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership, New Jersey Clean Communities Council, and the Borough of South River.
