Jan. 26 Volunteer Info Session With Milltown Animal Rescue Group

Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society will host an informational session Saturday, Jan. 26 about volunteering at its Milltown Adoption Center.

MILLTOWN, NJ — Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer with animals in 2019? If so, this may be of interest: Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society will host an informational session on Saturday, January 26 about volunteering at their Milltown Adoption Center, pictured above.

The info session will run from 2 – 4 p.m. at 39 South Main Street in Milltown. It aims to share knowledge about Karma Cat + Zen Dog’s mission, values, and everyday operations with those looking to help. Participants will meet the rescue’s team of directors, talk to current volunteers, tour the new facility, and learn about how they can help out with any skill set or experience level. Karma Cat + Zen Dog is always looking to expand its volunteer roster, but currently needs even more help since it opened its second location in Milltown in July.

“We feel that a lot of people have interest in volunteering, but may be a bit shy to jump in right away,” said Executive Director Christie Arlotta. “We really want to emphasize that we do more than just scoop litter boxes, and that we have an opportunity for all interests and experience levels. Come and grow your good karma!”

The mission of the Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society is to provide a safe and peaceful haven for homeless, abandoned or abused animals. We will help decrease the number of cats and dogs being destroyed in kill shelters through the work of our foster, spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return, and education programs. The vision of the Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society is a world where every companion animal is respected, fed, warm, happy, and not in danger of being killed because it is temporarily homeless.
