Multiple Accidents So Far On Rt. 1, Garden State Parkway

Breaking: There was also one accident on the Garden State Parkway in the Matawan/Aberdeen area, where an Oldsmobile drove off the road.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Tuesday's snowstorm has caused multiple accidents so far on Rt. 1 in North Brunswick Township, police there report.

In South Brunswick, there have been seven crashes so far, police said. Most of the crashes are taking place on less-traveled, rural roads. There have been no significant injuries so far.

"Traffic conditions are much lighter then a normal workday, which may account for fewer crashes," said Deputy Chief James Ryan. "Sleet appears to be the biggest challenge."
