Over 40 Accidents So Far In East Brunswick/South Brunswick

Here's how Rt. 1 in South Brunswick was looking as of noon Wednesday. Road conditions and visibility are supposed to get worse.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — As a snow/ice mixture is coming down in Central Jersey, East Brunswick Twp. is reporting 20 accidents as of 2 p.m. South Brunswick reported 21 crashes between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

"There have been a handful of accidents reported in the past twenty minutes," South Brunswick police said when it first started snowing around 11:30 a.m.

Major roadways such as Rt. 1 and Rt. 27 actually look good, but secondary roadways are slippery, police warned.

Remember: The snow is expected to increase, and road conditions will get worse throughout the afternoon. It is supposed to change to rain by the early evening.
