New Businesses Opening At Former Kmart Site In East Brunswick
CubeSmart storage and Crunch Gym are all set to open at the Route 18 location in East Brunswick.

EAST BRINSWICK, NJ – A new storage facility is all set to open at the former Kmart site in East Brunswick.
CubeSmart, which includes around 1,100 units with 130,000 square feet of storage space, will open at the Route 18 location, with easy access to roadways and proximity to other upcoming development projects, according to the developer TFE Properties.
The new facility is part of TFE Properties Junction Pointe project. A Crunch Gym will be opening at the site by the end of the year or in early 2021.

The site is also home to The Clothing Center, which has been in the community for 30 years and was relocated to a more state-of-the-art store, the developer said in a release.
“We saw a great opportunity in this East Brunswick property,” Carey Tajfel, President of TFE Properties said in a statement.

“Exciting things are happening on Route 18 in East Brunswick, including the repositioning of some of the older shopping centers and a commitment by the administration to bolstering retail and multi-family development on the corridor,” he said.
Before the November election, East Brunswick mayor Brad Cohen had said the Route 18 redevelopment project will bring an influx of businesses to town. "Our redevelopment projects will help revitalize vast sections of the Route 18 corridor that have fallen into blight and disrepair," he told Patch.

Cohen had said the project will bring "new jobs and a downtown, it will bring much needed tax revenue to the township."
