Obituary: Frederick Obst

Frederick Ernest Obst, Sr. died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.  He was 77.

Born in Elizabeth, he resided in East Brunswick for the past 52 years.

Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was a machinist for Permacel in New Brunswick for over 25 years.

He was a long time communicant of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in South River.

Surviving are his wife, Jean M. Demski; three sons, Frederick Jr., William, and Joseph; four daughters, Susan Obst, Jeanie Obst, Maryanne Goccia, and Claire Watson; a sister, Ina Klasko, and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, South River.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
