One Lane Closed On Rt. 18 S In East Brunswick Friday Night
It probably won't impact traffic too much tomorrow night, but just something to be prepared for. A short stretch of Rt. 18 will be impacted.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A short stretch of Rt. 18 southbound through East Brunswick will have one closed Friday night, May 3.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday night, May 3 until 7 a.m., Saturday, May 4, Earle Asphalt is scheduled to close the left lane of Route 18 southbound, between Matawan Road and Southwood Drive.
This is part of a repaving project done on Rt. 18 by the state Department of Transportation. Earle Asphalt won the bid to be the state DOT's contractor for the job.

Friday night's work is part of a much larger $14.2-million federally-funded project to repair Rt. 18, running in total the length of just south of Texas Road to Rues Lane. They are supposed to be making improvements to six miles of deteriorated pavement and installing pedestrian safety devices (several people have been hit trying to cross Rt. 18 in that area over the years).
The project is expected to be completed in late fall 2019.
