South River Volunteer Firefighter Charged with Sexual Offense

Raymond Brown, a volunteer firefighter was charged on May 21, said authorities.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – A volunteer firefighter from South River has been charged with criminal sexual contact with an adult woman.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Mark Tinitigan of the South River Police Department said that the victim was known to him.

Raymond Brown, 67, of South River was arrested and charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact on May 21.

According to a statement from Ciccone and Tinitigan, during the early afternoon of May 21, "Brown engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with the victim in the Borough of South River.

The investigation revealed Brown serves as a volunteer firefighter with the South River Fire Department, said authorities.
