Spring Break Travel? Quarantine 10 Days: East Brunswick Schools
The East Brunswick School District released mandatory spring break guidelines to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in schools.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Ahead of Spring Break, the East Brunswick School District released guidelines for the school community.
This comes days after the entire Hammarskjold Middle School was put on remote learning schedule due to untraceable presumed positive COVID-19 cases.
School Superintendent Victor Valeski announced the guidelines on Friday. During spring break if students travel overnight to any state or territory beyond New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Connecticut, they will be required to quarantine from school for 10 calendar days after return.

They will be placed in virtual learning for those 10 days and cannot come into their school buildings.
“Evidence of a negative COVID test, proof of vaccine or proof of a positive COVID test result and recovery within the past 90 days cannot be accepted as a substitute for the mandatory 10-day quarantine,” Valeski said.

Students who travel outside New Jersey but return the same day with no overnight stay, are not required to quarantine if they are symptom-free.
Valeski said that compliance with these guidelines is mandatory to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in district schools.
