Watch Milltown Mel Do His Winter Prediction Saturday

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Forget Punxsutawney Phil!

On Saturday, Feb. 2, a groundhog known as Milltown Mel will tell us whether we'll have to endure six more weeks of winter. This event will occur at 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Milltown American Legion Post (4 John F. Kennedy Drive, Milltown, NJ).

All are welcome. This is the eleventh annual year Mel's handlers have put on the event (we're still trying to figure out why they do it so darn early) and there will be free coffee and donuts. A stage is set up and crowds start gathering at 6:45 a.m.; people usually bring noisemakers. Mel does the prediction at 7:20 a.m.
