Woman Charged In Fatal East Brunswick Tractor Trailer Collision

Police said the incident took place at a warehouse loading dock. A 43-year-old man from Jackson Heights, New York was killed.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A woman from Port Norris was charged for fatally striking a man with a tractor trailer, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Frank LoSacco of the East Brunswick Police Department announced Tuesday night.

Kimberly Holmes, 39, was arrested and charged with third-degree Causing Death or Injury While Driving with a Suspended License.

According to police, around 6:12 a.m., authorities responded to 19A Cottage Lane following a report of an unconscious male laying on a warehouse loading dock.

Upon their arrival, police said they found Uttam Sharma, 43, of Jackson Heights, New York. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that an initial investigation determined Holmes, whose driver’s license had been suspended, struck the victim as she drove up to the loading dock.

The investigation is active and continuing.
