Adult Store Owner Wins Legal Fee Battle
Owner of Adult Emporium who sought to open East Hanover store awarded $63K in fees.

After a five-year legal battle over trying to open a store in East Hanover, the owner of an adult store chain won his case for $63,000 in legal and expert fees last week, according to NJ.com.
The owner of GED, which also owns and manages Adult Emporium on Route 46 in Fairfield, signed a lease to open a store on Route 10 in 2009, but East Hanover's zoning laws stopped the owner from being able to obtain a permit. The town's law now requires a 50-foot buffer around businesses that are sexual in orientation after a 1,000-foot buffer for adult businesses was ruled unconstitutional.
GED sued for damages after the 50-foot buffer challenge was dismissed and the court agreed to the cost of some of the damages charges and attorney and expert fees on Aug. 29, NJ.com reported.
