Auto Parts Thief Causes Nearly $80K in Losses, Florham Park Police Say
Sayreville man faces 92 total charges following a two-month investigation.
A Sayreville man faces 92 charges for allegedly stealing auto parts that caused nearly $80,000 in losses to a Florham Park car dealership, police said.
Randy Williams, 35, was identified as the thief following a two-month investigation into the thefts on Jan. 26 and 27 and Feb. 2 at Royal Cadillac on Columbia Turnpike, Florham Park Capt. Robert Treiber said. The total loss attributed to the thefts and damage was approximately $77,000, Treiber said.
Williams is also allegedly responsible for similar thefts throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Treiber said.
U.S. Marshals arrested Williams on Friday at a Linden residence and charged with the following:
- 26 counts of third-degree burglary to a motor vehicle
- 11 counts of third-degree theft of movable property
- 22 counts of fourth-degree theft of movable property
- 19 counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief
- 11 counts of criminal mischief (disorderly persons offense)
- 2 counts of third-degree receiving stolen property
- 1 count of third-degree attempted theft of property
