Bank Of America In East Hanover Closing

Bank of America customers will have to drive to Florham Park starting in December.

EAST HANOVER, NJ — The East Hanover Bank Of America location will close its doors in the first week of December, a media representative confirmed to Patch.

The bank, located at 19 Ridgedale Ave, is expected to close "on or about Dec. 5," Tara Burke, a representative for Bank of America, told Patch. Customer accounts at that location will be transferred to the Florham Park branch on Columbia Turnpike.

Account holders have already been notified of the closure, Burke said.

Burke told Patch there were a "variety of factors" behind the decision to close the branch, but a decline in foot traffic as online banking becomes more popular was one of them.

A silver lining for customers? The Florham Park location has a drive-through.
