Bridge Replacement Will Be Funded By State Grant

$1 million will go to Melanie Lane project, report says.

A project to repair an East Hanover bridge got a boost Tuesday when the state Department of Transportation announced $1 million in funding toward the project, according to The Daily Record.

The bridge covers the Whippany River and travels from Ridgedale Avenue, in East Hanover, to Algonquin Parkway, in Hanover.

Last year, the bridge was deemed structurally unsafe and was closed while engineers began working on replacement plans, according to The Daily Record.

Despite the grant announcement, officials have not said when the bridge will be replaced or operational.
