East Hanover Children's Librarian Passes Away

Nancy Svorinich lived and worked in East Hanover for decades.

EAST HANOVER, NJ — Longtime children's librarian Nancy Svorinich passed away on July 19. She was 70 years old.

Svorinich was a 40 year resident of East Hanover, and worked in the library for over 30 years, according to her obituary.

Born and raised in Irvington, she resided in East Hanover for the past 40 years. A graduate of Kean University, Nancy was employed as the East Hanover Librarian for over 30 years. Her passion for teaching was evident in the programs she created at the library for children. Nancy enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her husband, Victor P. Svorinich who died in 2013. Nancy is survived by her son, Victor Jr. and wife, Anna of Whippany; by her granddaughter, Annalise; and by her brother, Arthur Biber and wife, Debbie of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Friday at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936 followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
