East Hanover PD Partners With Ring's Neighbors App
The Neighbors App is a free way for residents to receive and share real-time local crime and safety updates.

EAST HANOVER, NJ —The East Hanover Police Department has a new partner in the fight to keep people safe: You.
The department has teamed-up with the video doorbell company Ring, and is a now member of Ring's Neighbors app.
The Neighbors app provides users with a way to receive and share video their Ring doorbells filmed and real-time crime and safety updates.

The initiative furthers the mission of the East Hanover Police Department to support safer neighborhoods and connect the community by utilizing a tool for residents to share recorded video with the department, police said.
The East Hanover Police Department does not monitor the app 24 hours a day. Residents should still dial 911 during emergencies.

The Neighbors app is free and works with iOS- Android-, and FireOS-enabled devices. Residents can use the app even if they do not have a Ring doorbell. To download the app, residents should text "JOINTODAY" to 555888 from their smartphone to receive a link to download the app, police said.
