Fall Enrollment Opportunities at Kirby

Children will learn, grow and thrive

With September on the horizon, families begin to prepare for the beginning of the school year. While incorporating additional features in the structure of its programs this year, the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA continues to provide year-round early childhood care and education for its students. With class sizes held to 10, students receive highly personalized attention and care. The health and safety of the students, their families, and the staff at Kirby are of the utmost importance and the Center has taken preventative measures. These include increased sanitation of common areas and individually prepared meals. Kirby is preparing for the “Back to School” season to ensure the new school year is welcomed in a most positive manner. Current, returning and new families can rest assured that Kirby is taking all necessary precautions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses.

Teachers at Kirby prepare weekly lesson plans to encourage student exploration and creativity. This curriculum helps students set developmentally appropriate goals while still encouraging social distance within the classroom, or pod. Students at Kirby begin laying the foundations for success as early as 6 weeks old and can continue to learn and grow at Kirby.

Fall also welcomes the return of Kirby’s seasonal programs, including school-age before- and after-care for students in kindergarten through 5th grade, providing parents with different options for flexible child care. Parents can rely on full-day options at Kirby when local schools are closed. Kirby is finalizing programs to complement the local school district’s fall plans. They remain committed to supporting families with these part-time and school-age options.
