Florham Park AARP Continues Meetings with Zoom
AARP Chapter meeting this Tuesday, June 16 via Zoom!

For many years the Florham Park AARP Chapter has held it's annual Installation Luncheon at the Florham Park Recreation Center. At that meeting everyone brings in food and desserts, officers are elected for the next fiscal year, and the club is entertained by local musicians.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the Recreation Center to be unavailable. With AARP members ranging in age from 50 to 103, social distancing of 6 feet is not an option at this time. Thus the Florham Park AARP is joining 180 million people across the United States by instead meeting using Zoom - the cloud-based video conferencing/meeting tool.
The next meeting will be this Tuesday, June 16 and will start at 11:00am for general membership topics. Then at 12:00pm Florham Park resident, Marilyn Tepper will conduct a musical performance on her violin. Marilyn is a long time resident of Florham Park and has performed for the AARP before. She is well known locally for teaching and performing with her violin. Her upbeat performance will be entitled Better Days to Come!"

Mindfulness Meditation
The Florham Park AARP Chapter has also added a weekly Mindfulness and Meditation session, thanks to member Dr. Evelyn Callahan. Every Thursday, starting at 3:00pm, via Zoom, she will lead a session sharing some very relaxing exercises. Meditation can help reduce stress and anxiety, and provide a better night’s sleep.
While you don’t need to attend every week, AARP members and folks 50 and over are welcome to attend these enjoyable and relaxing experiences. Contact Dennis Callahan at 973-360-1875 to receive a Zoom link to attend or if interested in attending this Mindfulness meeting and/or other AARP meetings.
