Florham Park Graduate Heading To U.S. Military Academy

FLORHAM PARK, NJ — A Florham Park graduate is one of 16 students from New Jersey's 11th Congressional District heading to a United States military service academy.

Kai Youngren, a Newark Academy gradudate from Florham Park, will attend the U.S. Military Academy in the fall. Before heading out, Youngren was honored at a reception held by Representative Mikie Sherrill at her Parsippany district office on Friday.

"It was an honor to meet the students in our community who have stood up to serve our country," said Representative Sherrill. "I commend these young men and women on their shared sense of duty and their commitment to our values. They represent the best and brightest of New Jersey, and I wish them the best of luck as they begin their service."

In order to be accepted to a military service academy, students must earn a nomination from either their congressperson, both senators from their state, or the Vice President of the United States.

Here are all 16 students from NJ-11 attending service academies this fall:

• Russell Eberding, U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School, Sparta – U.S. Military Academy
• Samuel Eden, Mountain Lakes High School, Mountain Lakes – U.S. Military Academy
• William Hart, Madison High School, Madison – U.S. Military Academy
