Funplex Facelift Proposal Wins East Hanover Planning Board Approval

The area amusement center will expand to include a water tower with slides and a 'lazy river' for tubing.

It appears the Funplex, the venerable Route 10 amusement venue, is going to become even more fun. The Daily Record reported that an application to expand the site won East Hanover Township Planning Board approval to expand its water park to include a “lazy river” for tubing and a water tower with slides.they manipulate cars in and out of there, you don’t even know it’s there.”

The Land Use Planning Board voted to approve the venue's site plan, which included variances for parking and a 45-foot-high water slide tower, at its December meeting. The body gave its final OK on Jan. 9, when the members voted to memorialize its favorable ruling for the project, the article said.

The Funplex owner Randy Lahn, who operates the 9.95-acre attraction with his family, told the Record that the plan is for the 'Splashplex' expansion to break ground in August. Lahn said they hope to have a brand new water slide and a "lazy river" with two tube slides up and running by Memorial Day weekend of 2015.
