EAST HANOVER, NJ — Two local schools were named among the top 5,000 STEM high schools in the United States.
Hanover Park and Whippany Park high schools were named to Newsweek's list of the best 5,000 STEM high schools in the United States.
Newsweek partnered with STEM.org to curate the list using data from the second quarter of 2015 until the third quarter of 2019, including affluence and median household income.

"We have established a foundation of educational excellence through the use of differentiated instruction and problem-based learning experiences," said Maria Carrell, superintendent for the Hanover Park Regional High School District. "We will work to continue to develop new and innovative experiences for our students to further enhance our robust program."
Newsweek's list was created to determine what primary and secondary schools best offer students experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while preparing them for life after high school.
