Helipad Coming To Jets Training Facility In Florham Park: Report

The helipad was first proposed in 2013, but was put on hold after residents complained about noise concerns.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ — A helipad will be build at the Jets training facility in Florham Park, despite local opposition, NJ.com reported.

Located just miles from Morristown Airport, the new helipad will transport Jets executives and players in and out of the training facility. The new helipad was approved by the New Jersey Department of Transportation; a license to fly would be issued when construction is finished.

Local residents have complained about the noise from low-flying helicopters, and the potential of an accident. The proposal was first put on hold in 2013 after residents pushed back.

Morris County is no stranger to helicopter accidents. A helicopter crashed on Main Street in Chatham this February, narrowly missing apartment buildings. A total loss of power was to blame in that accident.
