Lost Driver Found in Student Parking Lot with Meth, Syringes, Police Say

New York man arrested in Whippany Park High School parking lot last week.

A retired police officer found a Staten Island man allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the student parking lot of the Whippany Park High School last week.

Thomas Cuccia, 43, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic syringes, according to a report in the Daily Record.

Michael Murphy, the former police officer who now works as a substance abuse specialist at the high school, called police when he found Cuccia allegedly trespassing on school property. Cuccia told police he had gotten lost turning off Route 287 and thought the high school was a park, the Daily Record story said.
