Morris County Columbus Day Parade Marches Through Hanover October 9

The Annual Morris County Columbus Day celebration kicks off on October 7 with an awards dinner.

Columbus Day celebrations in Morris County will be kicking off on Friday, October 7, with The Morris County Columbus Day Parade Awards Dinner and finishing off with a procession through East Hanover on Sunday, October 9.

The East Hanover Italian American Club will be celebrating their roots on North American soil with a special gala and awards ceremony on Friday night. The dinner, which will kick off Columbus Day weekend, will feature a Frank Sinatra Tribute by The Tony Fusco Show with Frank & Friends featuring the John Oddo Orchestra. Tickets for the dinner are on sale for $100.

On Sunday, the celebration of Christopher Columbus's landing on American soil will continue with the annual Morris County Parade, also sponsored by EHIAC. The parade, scheduled to begin at 2 PM at the East Hanover Fire Headquarters, will process to Lurker Park on Ridgedale Avenue led by “Grand Marshal,” Teresa Priolo, a Fox 5 News anchor. Joining her are William Barrett, Esq. of MandelbaumSalsburg, Karen Casolaro, founder of Halos for Angels, Angelo Sansano of Henry O’Baker Insurance Agency, and Father Owen Moran, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church. These individuals will also be presented with awards during Friday's gala.

A celebration is incomplete without food, which is why there will be a Food Truck Festival, beginning at 12 PM at Lurker Park, along with rides for kids and music provided by the Cameos later in the afternoon.

The Gala happens at Hanover Manor on 16 Eagle Rock Avenue in East Hanover at 7 PM. Music will be providedby Tony Fusco with Frank and Friends and will perform a tribute to Frank Sinatra. The Food Truck Festival begins on Sunday, October 9, at 12 PM at Lurker Park. And the parade will begin at 2 PM at the East Hanover Fire Headquarters at 323 Ridgedale Avenue.
