Morris County Podiatrist Privileges Revoked For Running Narcotics Pill Mill, Says NJDCA

Prescription-writing privileges were taken away from a Morris County podiatrist who allegedly wrote inappropriate prescriptions

A podiatrist who ran six private practices in Morris County, including one in Florham Park and another in Pequannock, accepted a three-year license suspension and gave up his prescription-writing privileges after he was accused of writing inappropriate prescriptions for narcotics, according to a story in the Daily Record.

Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino charged Dr. Darius Jasinski with repeatedly engaging in acts of negligence and malpractice, by writing narcotic prescription for diagnoses unrelated to podiatroy, said the Daily Record piece. According to a complaint filed by the state, accessed by the Daily Record, Jasinski wrote prescriptions for narcotics, including Percocet, Xanax--for anxiety--and Adderall, a medication for ADD customarily prescribing by psychiatrists.

“Dr. Jasinski has displayed an utter disregard for the standards of podiatric care by practicing beyond the scope of his education, training, and license,” Porrino said in a statement accessed by the Daily Record. “Even more disturbing is the callous indifference he has shown for his patients’ welfare by indiscriminately prescribing them painkillers and other narcotics that could easily lead them down a path to drug addiction.”
