Boys Basketball Team Tees Off for Winter Tournament
Upcoming golf outing will help raise money for the Hanover Park High basketball team to attend a tournament in Florida.

Feel like spoiling a good walk Monday?
The Hanover Park High School boys basketball team is trying to get to the 2013 KSA Events Holiday Tournament at Disney World this December, but to get there they have to fund their own way, to the tune of about $1,500 per athlete, or between $35,000 and $40,000 for the entire team.
So far they have raised about $9,000. To help raise the remaining $31,000, the team recruited golfers willing to play 18 holes at the Brooklake Country Club on Monday.
"It's going to be a lot of fun," junior Matthew O'Connor, a center on the team, said. "It's a tournament, so if you win, you win a prize. You can play as a single, or [as a team'."
After the 18 holes the team will hold a barbeque and give thanks to their sponsors.
"We just need to get more golfers since this is the biggest fundraiser we are having," basketball mom Lisa Monticello said.
The pricing options for the Golf Outing are:
- For the barbeque only, $50
- To get a Hornet player as your caddy, $50
- To sponsor a hole, $175
- To play as an individual player, $250
- To be a golf cart sponsor, $250
- To sponsor a beverage cart, $500
- To sponsor a putting green, $500
- To sponsor a driving range, $500
- To play as a team of four players, $900
- For a corporate sponsorship, $1,500
