Here are some of the top headlines from the past week in East Hanover and Florham Park.

The Hanover Park Regional High School District Board of Education met this week to discuss renovation plans for the atheletic complexes. They are looking to add in a turf field and other additions because of the increase of students and the overuse of facilities.

Anti-Bullying Efforts Award Winning for East Hanover

The East Hanover Township School District received this year's Student Leader Award this week from the New Jersey School Boards Association for its exceptional participation in anti-bullying initiatives.

Dogs Have Their Day at Mutts Mania

Over 1,300 people and 600 dogs attended Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter's annual Mutts Mania last week for a day of fun pet-related activties to raise money for shelter animals. Several celebrities attended including Ice-T and his wife Coco.

Police said there were two recent acts of mischief at East Hanover cemeteries. On Sept. 11 three bronze grave vases stolen at Restland Memorial Park, and nine days later a decapitated chicken was found in a plastic bag at Hanover Cemetery.

Small Brush Fire Extinguished Quickly

A brush fire that broke out on 100 Campus Drive Tuesday afternoon was quickly extinguished by the Florham Park Fire Department. The fire was near the transformer of the office building on the steet.

East Hanover Resident Seriously Hurt in Crash

A 21-year-old East Hanover resident suffered a non-life-threatening head injury in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson Thursday morning.
