Valentine's Day Fundraiser Shows Shelter Animals the Love Starting Wednesday

The Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in East Hanover starts its Valentine's Day observance Wednesday with its Sponsor-a-Pet event. 

The idea behind the charitable effort is to raise funds to care for the homeless animals being housed at the shelter.  For a donation of $20, you can sponsor a homeless cat or dog at Mt. Pleasant will be sponsored for one month.

You get to choose the pet you'll sponsor: Boots, Harley, Tuesday, or Brooklyn. Meanwhile, the special person of your choice will receive a handmade greeting card with a unique pet themed magnet showcasing the animal whose care your gift funds. 

The Valentine's Day cards go on sale Wednesday; sponsorships can be purchased at the shelter, 194 Route 10 West, or you can handle the entire pet sponsorship transaction online. Please include in the comments section of the donation form which pet you wish to sponsor and the contact information of the person receiving the gift.
