Widespread Power Outages Reported In East Hanover

More than one-third of JCP&L customers are without power Saturday morning, according to the utility company.

EAST HANOVER, NJ — Nearly 1,800 JCP&L customers were without power Saturday morning, the utility company reported.

One resident told Patch that his power had been out since 7 a.m.

The outage was due to "equipment damage," JCP&L said on its website.

The outage affected nearly 36 percent of JCP&L's almost 5,000 East Hanover customers, information from the utility company showed.

JCP&L estimated that power should be restored to customers by 11 a.m.
